A 12-week training program based on both theory and practice

DeWys University is our own program developed to sustain our business through on the job training. As a manufacturer in Michigan, we need to create the talent required to keep up with our growth.

The DeWys University curriculum is based on both theory and practice. Not only do students get to understand DeWys Manufacturing, they also get on the job training with a certified trainer for the area in which they have applied. It’s like a manufacturing trade school.

Hands on training lasts approximately 6 weeks, then the student gets incorporated into a production team where he or she will continue to be observed for another 6 weeks. This approach to manufacturing jobs training allows students to fully understand what it takes to be a successful team member at DeWys Manufacturing.

General Machine Operator Job
We are seeking individuals with strong critical thinking skills to join our team as a General Machine Operator.

General Machine Operator Duties:

Read customer blueprints and diagrams. Will be trained to operate Haeger, Spot Welder, and other equipment. Maintain a clean and organized workspace

General Machine Operator Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willing to work overtime as necessary

Robotic Weld Operator Jobs
We are currently seeking mechanically inclined individuals to join our welding team as Robot Operator.

Robot Operator Duties:

Set up, adjust, and operate robotic welder
Read customer blueprints and work instructions
Troubleshoot issues to eliminate causes of rejected parts
Grind parts as needed
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Robot Operator Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous welding experience or training preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Willing to work overtime as necessary

Press Brake Operator Jobs
We are currently seeking detail-oriented individuals to join our team on Press Brake.

Press Brake Operator Duties:

Set up, adjust, and operate press brake
Read customer blueprints and work instructions
Troubleshoot issues to eliminate causes of rejected parts
Perform periodic quality inspections throughout shift
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Press Brake Operator Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous metal fabrication experience preferred
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
Willing to work overtime as necessary

Powder Coat Paint Line Jobs

We are currently seeking team-oriented individuals to join our powder coat paint line.

Powder Coat Team Member Duties:

Read customer blueprints and diagrams
Prep all parts for painting by plugging and racking parts
Load and unload sheet metal parts to conveyor paint line
Assembly and packaging of finished parts
Troubleshoot issues to eliminate causes of rejected parts
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Powder Coat Team Member Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous powder coat experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willing to work overtime as necessary.

Welder Jobs and Welding jobs

We are currently seeking motivated Welders with the drive to expand their MIG, TIG, & Robotic Welding skills through the DeWys University training program.

Welder Duties:

Set up welding equipment for MIG welding on a variety of products and parts
Lay out, position, align, and fit metal components to weld per customer specifications
Read customer blueprints and work instructions
Finish grinding and spot grinding of parts
Perform maintenance on welding and grinding machines
Welder Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous welding experience/training, Certified Welding Technician is a plus!
Good working knowledge of metals, welding robots, and welding & grinding equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
Willing to work overtime as necessary
