Job Title: Electrical/Controls Engineer

Department / Division: Project Engineering – Automation and Controls

Salary Range: $85,967 - $111,251

Location: Ada, MI

*Note: This position is an onsite role, and you must be able to report in-person in Ada, MI.

What do we need:

Operations Engineer to support Project Engineering on a broad range of capital automation projects with an emphasis on controls, electrical, and programming.

What’s special about this team:

Our Operations Engineering team is comprised of a talented team whose work is focused on the design, development, and implementation of diverse capital projects for Ada Operations. The team works on a broad range of projects that span multiple engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, automation, chemical, and software).

This role may involve both domestic and global travel to meet project demands. While travel is usually limited, it can vary by project complexity and / or volume of projects.

What’s special about this role:

This role will support capital projects that vary in complexity. You will work with both domestic and international supply chain functions, vendors, and commercial partners. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and trouble-shooting a variety of automated systems. This will require electrical and controls proficiency, general project management skills, and a base level of business acumen.

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a mfg. or operations environment
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of Allen Bradley controls and programming
  • Compliance and understanding of electrical codes and regulations
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, building timelines, and providing cost estimates
  • Background in programming industrial or collaborative robots
  • Understand Industrial ISO/ EN safety standards and how they apply to electrical controls
  • Basic AutoCAD knowledge or skills

Skills to be successful in the role:

  • Rockwell Automation PlantPAX and PackML is a plus
  • Industrial networking architectural design
  • Some experience with other platforms: B&R, Schneider, Siemens, etc.
  • Licensed electrician in the State of Michigan preferred
  • Vision systems development and programming, Cognex preferred
  • Strong learning agility and able to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
