This position leads Meijer’s media programs - across paid, owned, & social channels. The senior media specialist is responsible for developing creative media strategies in partnership with leaders, peers, and media agency partners that drive positive business results. This role is responsible for the planning, execution and analytics associated with media campaigns at Meijer. Additionally this role will train and develop media specialists and coordinators across the team, while building strong relationships across the marketing organization. Critical thinking and analytical competency are a must to interpret and clearly communicate campaign performance to management. . What You'll be Doing: Manages daily planning, execution, optimization of campaigns. Develops and maximizes traditional media & digital programs to attract a qualified and engaged audience to Meijer’s stores and/or online digital properties. Builds positive relationships with media partners and collaborates with them to creatively build new programs and digital media offers for Meijer. Closely monitors media performance and develops reporting tools to clearly communicate progress among the marketing and merchandising teams. Develops event and category-level impact strategies for digital media. Collaborates closely with traditional and digital media analysts in planning and optimizing Meijer’s annual digital media spend. Manages annual media budget in partnership with media agency. Trains specialists across the team, ensuring operational excellence. Provides clearly articulated performance summaries to management. What You Bring with You (Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree in marketing/advertising or related field required, or a corresponding number of years of professional advertising experience. Experience leading/moderating cross-functional projects. Experience presenting to various levels of leadership. Excellent time & project management skills. On call periodically outside of normal work hours to provide support by either working from home or having to go on-site. Occasional travel to other Meijer units, vendor locations, or trade show/education centers.
