About Our Internship Program:

Here at Amway, our interns develop through real world experience and are assigned meaningful projects that challenge and allow for personal growth. All Interns receive project support and on-going performance feedback from a person advisor and hiring manager. Amway hosts over 80+ interns each summer and offers programming events designed to assist navigating Amway culture, making the most of a summer internship, and building a successful career. The program provides exposure to a breadth of career fields and offers unique opportunities to learn business acumen, work cross-functionally and showcase their skillsets directly to hiring managers and executives.

Internship Eligibility:

This job posting is for our summer 2021 Internship Program (May – August); qualified candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of their internship. Candidates who have graduated are not eligible to intern.

Internship Job Title: Food Scientist Intern

What is special about this team: The Kids / GenZ / Millennials Growth Platform Team develops innovative macro- and micro-nutrients delivery formats (food and beverage systems) to meet the current and future needs of these demografic segments. The product development process includes the collaboration of various functions including marketing, packaging, nutrition and food technology.

How would an intern contribute to the team’s success? The candidate will gain hands-on experience in developing commercial products (idea inception through commercialization) as well as working in a multisisciplinary team providing exposure to a variety of departments and interact with various levels of the organization. He / She will understand how the the functional and nutritional ingredients interact at the bench-top and at the various steps of the scaling-up processes. They will also gain proficienty with the various systems (Clarity, PLM, STARLIMS) used throuout the process.

An example of a typical project is: Development of snacks using functional and nutritional ingredients to meet of growth and satiety needs for pre-schoolers including the documentation.

What skills and background will be important to be successful in this internship?

Desired Skills: Understanding product development of food and beverages

Desired Degree: Food Science and Technology (third year completed) with nutrition courses. Graduate students in aresas of good technology are also acceptable.
