What you will be doing:
Our Materials Consultant must be process & people-focused. We are looking for a materials professional who provides business guidance and technical direction to the Work From Home (WFH) Operations Leadership, and Product Category team members. Works proactively within a multi-disciplined effort, providing support and service to the WFH Product Category, the Manufacturing plants, and our Suppliers to implement innovative, optimized, agile and elastic material flow solutions to meet the strategic category business plan. Supports and influences the development and implementation of Material Strategies to best support our WFH Products by approving, assigning and coaching core team members within the WFH Category, Procurement, Manufacturing, Materials Management and Distribution on the strategies. Establish expectations, measures, and continuous improvement plans in the WFH Category, Materials Management Processes. Represents Materials Management WFH Category within Steelcase, Inc to evaluate and influence adding or removing candidate products from our WFH offering. Develops the Materials Management process plans and project strategies that will be required to make our WFH Category a successful new sales steam and increase sales
- Four year technical degree required. Advanced technical or business degree a plus
- 3-5 years of experience within Materials, Operations, Procurement, Logistics or Product Development
- Weighted preference towards Materials Management, Logistics and Procurement experience
- Experience leading, influencing and motivating cross functional teams, including Plant Ops, Plant & LDC Materials, Procurement, and Category Managers to meet our WFH Category project & performance goals
