DeWys Manufacturing seeks Manufacturing Engineer.
Evaluates manufacturing processes to find cost reductions through automation, manufacturing design changes, and lean manufacturing techniques.
Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Evaluates opportunities to implement automation to current process. Manage automation and cost reduction projects from initial concept, design, project management, assembly, and implementation. Work with teams to improve manufacturing process and teach team workers new standards.
Familiarity with sheet metal practices and equipment Experience with robotic automation Knowledge of CAD design (SolidWorks preferred) Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment Excellent problem-solving skills Fixture and robotic tooling design experience PLC programming and wiring experience a plus Welding experience a plus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university or five years related experience.
Needs to be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Needs to be able to write routine reports and correspondence. Needs to be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
