Description The Strategic Sourcing Specialist role is responsible for executing strategic sourcing initiatives in a specific category. This role will work with business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and specification of materials and service being sourced/procured. Provide customer relationship support, track vendor performance and assess elements of the supply base, and help define, execute, and support strategic sourcing and procurement decisions.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Work closely with Category Lead to perform strategic sourcing activities.
  • Assist with the collection, analysis, benchmarking and reporting of category and spend data.
  • Develop and issue RFI’s, RFP’s, and Invitations to Bid.
  • Assist Category Lead with negotiations of contract pricing and terms.
  • Collect and analyze data from disparate sources.
  • Build and maintain category spend and pricing databases.
  • Review contracts, pricing, purchase orders, and service levels.
  • Perform value analysis and total cost of ownership analytical activities.
  • Monitor and report savings to Category Lead.
  • Interview stakeholders and buyers/owners of services.
  • Interview key users to develop service specification levels.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams that will assess the opportunities and supply markets in order to develop, implement and institutionalize various sourcing strategies.
  • Maintain and help build supplier relationships.

What You'll Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business or Supply Chain required, or equivalent job experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in sourcing, contract negotiation, competitive price analysis, and purchasing.
  • Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Strong experience with use of analytical methods and tools.
  • Ability to function in ambiguous and/or time-sensitive situations.
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-directed, requiring limited guidance and/or structure.
  • Good communication and team skills.
  • Competent with off-the-shelf analytical tools and software (e.g., MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SAP a plus.
  • Aptitude for conducting wide-ranging research.
  • Financial acumen preferred.
  • Leadership and team building abilities.
