This position is responsible for supporting environmental sustainability on behalf of the company. This role, in conjunction with the Sustainability Manager, supports environmental sustainability initiatives across retail, merchandising, distribution, and manufacturing operations. What You'll be Doing: Provides technical support regarding corporate strategies for environmental sustainability. Develops and maintains environmental data collection and validation systems. Innovates data management processes and leads data analysis for sustainability decision making. Links environmental sustainability to business value and supports the development of company environmental performance goals, key performance indicators, and targets. Identifies opportunities and future initiatives in environmental sustainability, especially related to carbon emissions reduction, food waste reduction, supporting the circular economy, and Great Lakes stewardship. Assesses stakeholder concerns systematically through materiality analysis and associated data analytics. Identifies and maintains awareness of current and emerging technologies, tools, and methods related to environmental sustainability. Supports Communications and Marketing staff to design and implement sustainability-related communications strategies, write articles, and deliver presentations. Supports environmental compliance reporting and data analysis. What You Bring with You (Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering/Science, Sustainability or related field. 0-5+ years of experience in environmental sustainability work. Rigorous data analytics and data visualization skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Academic or professional experience in one or more of the following subject areas: carbon accounting, renewable energy, waste minimization, recycling, food waste, sustainable chemistry, sustainable apparel, supply chain sustainability, sustainability reporting, sustainable food systems. The ability to work independently and within teams to accomplish tasks in an efficient and timely manner is essential. Collaboration, accountability, and action orientation for effective management in a large cross functional office setting are essential.
