About this Opportunity
As the Vice President of Global Contract Marketing, you'll deliver marketing initiatives globally, analyzing results and working to increase sales and market share through the leadership of contract marketing for Herman Miller and Herman Miller Group. Your focus areas will include deep expertise in product launch strategy from R&D through launch, rich knowledge of key sectors/business segments, geographic business nuance, and broad integrated marketing expertise across social, digital, and commercial channels. You will establish and grow the relationships, practices, and structures that ultimately constitute a global marketing organization for the Herman Miller and Herman Miller Group. You'll reconcile global strategic goals and regional realities that leverage customer insight and purposeful positioning and make the most of Herman Miller's knowledge and products.

Build a team with clear purpose, roles, structure, and processes to deliver on the marketing vision, customer experience, strategy, work plan, budgets, and success measures.
Collaborate effectively with Herman Miller Group in order maximize the value proposition for the collective power of our family of brands.
Build a comprehensive understanding of key audience segments such as Healthcare, Education, Government, and Corporate Real Estate, including how to establish broader reach and gain greater influence, resulting in higher market share and YOY segment growth.
Build a comprehensive understanding of key influencer groups such as Global Accounts and Global A+D segments, including strategies around reach and influence.
Coordinate with and oversee the work of Marketing leads in the relevant vertical units in the aforementioned launches.
Determine needs to support buying journeys and activation plans by region and sub-region.
Develop and lead a global branded environments strategy for both permanent spaces and temporary exhibits, including redesign and refresh strategy.
Direct Marketing leaders in all four regions to develop integrated marketing strategies across the “launch and nurture” journey, including ongoing brand activation by market and sub-market.
Directsthe implementation of the comprehensive market launch plan for various global platform products, closely collaborating with category leads in the Seating, Workplace, and Lifestyle categories.
Ensure Marketing and Customer Experience activities are conducted within fiscally-accountable parameters and are in support of corporate financial objectives.
Formulate marketing planning processes that integrate multiple disciplines from social to digital to video across product launches, verticals, category, and knowledge.
Lead the Field Marketing organization, including global bids and proposals, custom sales tools, branded events, and West Michigan customer experience.
Promote the Living Office as our core K&I platform, leveraging with key audiences and influencers.
Provide insights and analysis of customer behavior and market trends that lead to a sustainable competitive advantage.
Research and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and how they may optimize current business practices.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we’re looking for if you have...
A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent experience. A Master's degree or postgraduate executive study is preferred.
Ten years of professional experience in Marketing with global experience in B2B environments.
Five or more years of project leadership experience. Global project leadership experience is preferred.
Five ore more years of leadership experience across multiple functions, and/or previous executive leadership roles.
A proven ability to interact with senior executives and influential customer representatives.
Strong analytical skills, knowledge of financial operations and practices, and experience using good independent judgment.
Project management experience and the ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
The ability to manage multiple, complex projects and project teams in a timely manner.
The ability to work with multiple business partners to clearly define business problems and functional requirements.
A demonstrated high level of written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to communicate information, ideas, procedures, and processes in a logical sequence and at a level appropriate to the audience, resulting in effective working relationships.
A demonstrated ability to lead, influence, solve problems, and work with all levels in the organization, including executive leadership.
An expert ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
Financial literacy and well-developed business acumen.
Competencies that include strong systemic thinking, coaching skills, planning skills, organization skills, and the ability to be resourceful and timely in completing goals and objectives.
The ability to interpret and correctly/appropriately react to people, incidences, or situations that are open to misunderstanding due to cultural differences, and to work effectively with a variety of internal and external business partners.
