What you will be doing:
Your goal in this position is to drive Steelcase sales growth within the State & Local government sector so that we achieve our annual sales plan. You will accomplish this by building strong relationships with Steelcase and dealer sales teams, identifying and securing new State & Local contracts, identifying and addressing training needs, and executing against our broader State & Local government strategy. You will be an individual contributor to the team with the opportunity to grow into a people leader role over time.
This is a Grand-Rapids based position with the ability to travel nationally in support of our dealer and Steelcase teams selling into the State & Local government segment.
Who you are:
You are an energetic sales or marketing professional who is motivated to serve State & Local government clients and win business for Steelcase. You build strong relationships with all stakeholders and excel at leveraging your networking skills to uncover new opportunities for Steelcase. You are a proficient marketer who understands how to leverage data and lead sources to secure business for Steelcase. Further, you love working within the framework of a team, yet are not afraid to take the lead and work independently or challenge the status quo. Finally, you thrive in an environment that promotes autonomy yet requires collaboration to achieve team objectives.
Experience in an outside B2B or channel sales role with knowledge of State & Local government procurement and budget processes.
Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of internal and external audiences.
Experience selling a complex product or service.
Bachelor's degree required.
Your Future Team:
You will be joining the Government Solutions team at Steelcase and working closely with the Leader, Industry Sales, State & Local Government along with the Director of the Government Solutions team…both based in Grand Rapids, MI. Your Government Solutions team will contain individuals that focus on Federal Government and State & Local Government segments. This role will focus specifically on the State & Local Government segment.
