What you will be doing:

The Product Data Analyst serves as project support to the Materials Management team and is responsible for ensuring the lean design of systems and processes for new products within the Steelcase Kentwood Plant. This individual will utilize SAP and other legacy systems to complete data analyses that will identify possible project areas, then execute on projects by bringing together cross functional teams and engaging in value stream mapping, lean, six sigma, and other appropriate activities.

This individual’s work will be critical in ensuring that the material flow requirements of the plant are met, including but not limited to water spider routes, lineside storage, inbound receiving, and warehousing. Between collaborating on teams and liaising between the Materials Management and New Product Development teams, this is a role that is just as hands-on as it is technical. This person will work under limited consultative direction toward long range goals that meet corporate and larger company objectives.

Required Skills

Who you are:

  • Can apply and use SAP, and legacy systems tools to provide scheduling and planning solutions for production operations.
  • Understands and can apply lean techniques to the manufacturing operations environment.
  • Problem solving abilities using root cause analysis.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills – communication with all plant levels including plant manager, superintendents, team supervisors, production people, and various support staff.
  • Able to integrate new software tools and applications with lean practices to provide solutions in the areas of scheduling and supply chain.
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision
Required Experience


A bachelor’s degree in supply chain or 5 plus years of experience working in a lean manufacturing environment required, APICS or Lean certification preferred.
