Job title: Scrum Master

Department: Connected Experiences

Location: Ada, MI (Corporate)

What do we need:

We are looking for a Scrum Master to join our team working on the next generation of IoT/Connected Experiences products.

What’s special about this team:

This is a high-performing, innovative team that is well-versed in the Agile methodology. The Connected Experiences team consists of several teams working on specific projects tied to our Internet of Things (IoT) efforts. These teams work very closely together. This role will work on our team working on the Healthy Home platform for air and water treatment systems. This reports to the IT Manager of Connected Experiences.

This team engages in Peer Review and Paired Programming and enjoys a Continuous Improvement/Continuous Delivery environment. The applications that this team creates can be found on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Currently, they are focused on the Healthy Home launch in China. They have also completed the Global rollout of Sky Atmosphere and are doing a phased rollout of a “mini” Sky unit in Japan, Korea, and the United States. They will also be working on a connected experience for our water filtration system.

They have done a lot of work with Amazon Alexa and safety features for the existing app ecosystem.

How you would contribute to the role:

As a Scrum Master, you will ultimately be responsible for running all the Agile Scrum Ceremonies, including daily stand-up meetings and periodic Scrum planning, review, and retrospective meetings. You will also be asked to maintain the budget that pertains to your products. You will be relied upon to remove any non-technical barriers that your team is experiencing.

To learn how to do all this, we will provide you with:

  • 1:1 coaching and mentoring with a more experienced Scrum Master
  • A Community of Practice with other Scrum Masters and our Agile Transformation Office
  • Specific coaching on the team’s current direction, deliverables, and pain points

This team is working on the finished product as opposed to components, so there is a different level of involvement. There is an opportunity to explore other skills that you bring to the table as well. You will be given access to Jira, Confluence, the MS Office suite, and Tableau, in order to get your work done.

What skills and background will be important to be successful:

To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree and experience working on a large-scale Agile project team with specific deliverables. It is essential that you have prior experience working as a Scrum Master. You must have excellent problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills.

It would be ideal if you have experience within the Smart Home/Internet of Things/Connected Devices space. This is a product-centric team with like deliverables. Experience with a global product team and Scrum Certification would be a huge plus, but not required.
