Description Design, Develop and delivers curriculum and training sessions to a uniquely defined designated audiences of learners. Collaborate with departmental leadership and MeriTrain design teams to ensure the successful development and transfer of learning from the classroom back to the job. Independently oversees the classroom environment for long-term and complex training situations, managing all aspects of student performance and feedback to management. Coaches, mentors and oversees other trainers both technical and behavioral skills for trainer development purposes.

Fundamental Components
Perform performance analysis with business partners to identify performance gaps, appropriate training interventions, and other variables required to improve business performance. Primary Training responsibilities center around new hire training programs. Lead training sessions for designated audiences. Manage participant performance to ensure adherence to Aetna standards and policies; provides feedback to management as appropriate; Assess the effectiveness of training programs during and at designated intervals after delivery. Review feedback from program participants and business partners to determine program effectiveness and improvement opportunities .Use formal instructional design methodology to design and develop performance-based training and educational tools.

Candidates must be able to: Develop relationship/partnerships with all business areas and all levels of leadership. Be able to take the lead in gathering information and guiding the forward progress of projects and initiatives. Must be able to lend opinions and act as consultant when necessary. Suggest innovative learning approaches that not only solve business need but takes into account the learner's capacity and environment. Candidates must be able to place themselves in the learners shoes to effectively assess learning needs. Look for opportunities to improve current programing, with an emphasis on learner engagement and performance. Participate in a highly collaborative work team environment in which multiple project partnerships will overlap. Candidates must be life-long learners and look for ways to expand their skill sets.








Background Experience
  • 3 + years relevant experience in related disciplines.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the function being trained.
  • Excellent platform skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge and previous application of Aetna policies and human resource processes.
  • Education in adult learning principles and best in practice learning techniques.
  • Bachelor's degree desired or equivalent work experience.


Additional Job Information
Candidates will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of a comprehensive Sales and client management new hire training program. Program will include both on-demand and live instructor led solutions located on an interactive learning portal. Technical knowledge of the Sales process, Salesforce, Sales forecasting and financial monitoring required. Programming will be coordinated with the entire Market Development Training team to provide a unified program all reflecting our Four Phase approach.
