This position helps maintain a high level of client service and satisfaction by providing prompt, accurate and courteous service through excellent verbal and written communication skills to all insurance agency clients. Tasks performed will be a variety of routine and semi complex duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Day to day responsibility for answering phones and properly routing calls. Respond to client inquiries, incoming e-mail, mail, and company requests in accordance with agency guidelines. Attaching of carrier transactions into our agency document management system each day for both commercial and personal clients. Recording and reporting insurance claims, ensure proper documentation, and follow up as necessary. Responding to carrier memos in relation to inspections, surveys, and appraisals for both new business and renewal business. Participate in courses for insurance/sales skills and keep current with industry trends. Undertakes special projects relating to departmental services as assigned. Responsible for areas of compliance as it relates to this position. Undertakes special projects relating to departmental services as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience and expertise in operating in electronic environment; excellent automation skills, including MIS, Outlook, Word, Excel, document management software, carrier proprietary systems, and phone systems
Excellent time management, organizational and verbal and written communication skills
High degree of self-motivation and self-direction
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define and solve intellectual and practical problems and deal with variety of variables in situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Property and Casualty license is required or must be obtained in the near future.
Other Qualifications:
Knowledge of Insurance Software.
