We’re looking for OTR (over the road) drivers in the MI area with a Class A CDL (airbrake endorsement is a must). This person should have an excellent driving record as well as being committed to providing the highest level of customer service to every single person they come into contact with. A driver will be moving freight from point A to point B via a company owned truck, tarping and securing materials as required and traveling within the service area. This is a great position for anyone who is familiar with flatbed experience. A contract carrier, ICE provides a variety of services which include, flatbed, step deck, tarping and door-to-door deliveries. Job Summary:
Loading, driving, and unloading materials on nationwide long-haul runs to fulfill customer and company needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
These include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of our customers by providing a positive customer experience.
- Operate Company owned and leased trucks to make timely deliveries of product to required destination, up to and including long haul loads requiring overnight stays.
- Maintain all required certifications required by DOT.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service during delivery and pick-up operations.
- Perform required before, during, and after operation vehicle inspections per DOT regulations and Company requirements and provide required reports.
- Maintain all property entrusted to you in excellent condition, i.e. vehicle, fluid levels, lights, interior components, straps, and tarps.
- Fuel vehicle as required.
- Safely secure loads and use tarps on loads during poor weather conditions according to DOT regulations.
- Assist customers with loading and/or unloading material as needed.
- Maintain paperwork as required by DOT, including but not limited to accurate Driver Logs.
- Record daily trip reports.
- Comply with dispatch directives and call in times.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local driving laws and DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Regular and predicable attendance.
- Work safely.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Effectively use GPS, read maps, and follow directions.
- Effective use of cell phone and hands-free equipment while driving.
- Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.

- Basic adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division skills with or without using a calculator.
- Maintain a professional image as a representative of the company.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; or
- Minimum 3 years driving experience with multi-axle vehicle required; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Flat bed experience preferred.
Certifications and/or Licenses:
- Valid CDL-A License with acceptable driving record
- Current DOT medical certificate
- Ability to pass operator exam and drive powered industrial equipment
