This position works within the Meijer Properties department. Project Manager works closely with design consultants, construction management firms, and fuel systems contractors to administrate retail fuel systems projects. Accountable for design review, scope development, budgeting, bidding, contract awarding, construction-related financial reporting, and scheduling. Manages pre-construction activities and is the primary project execution strategist. Approves all contractor invoices, change orders, etc. including release of final payments and retention . What You'll Be Doing: Functions as a resource to Meijer Design, outside A/E firms, etc., during design development. Estimates, budgets, and establishes detailed construction cost projections. Administers construction purchase orders. Oversees pre-construction, construction, and post construction activities. Project reporting which includes risk strategy, bid results, job costs, progress update, and closeout. Coordinates with Business Partners in the field execution of projects. Regulatory compliance, including EPA and state underground storage tank (UST) operation and maintenance requirements Responsible for project closeout, final reporting, administers warranties and compliance with document retention requirements. This job profile is not all-inclusive of the responsibilities of this position; may perform other duties as assigned or required. What You'll Bring with You: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering or related field preferred. At least 5 years of applicable experience or professional engineer with practical field experience Able to read and comprehend construction drawings and technical specifications. Professional engineering licensure is a plus, but not required Familiarity with USEPA and State UST regulations (KY, OH, MI, IN, IL, and WI). Effective verbal and written communicator. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Project Management software, and accounting systems . .
