Employee Engagement Specialist - Talent Acquisition * Days - 40hrs/wk

General Summary:

The Employee Engagement Specialist assists in creating and executing employee engagement initiatives that support a people first culture, such as employee resource groups, recognition and mentoring programs. The Employee Engagement Specialist is expected to exercise independent judgment to identify, analyze, develop, implement, and maintain numerous human resource projects, processes and related issues in accordance with current internal policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations. This position will partner closely with the Human Resources Business Partners to champion excellence and consistency in application of policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business management, business administration, or related field required.
  • One (1) year of experience in human resources, business office and/or administration. Human Resources experience highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication/customer service skills
  • Presentation skills: verbal and written
  • Organizational skills: time management, project management, priority setting.
  • Strong computer skills: word, excel, access, PowerPoint
  • High ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain a high volume of work while maintaining the quality.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Partners with Human Resources leadership team to champion employee engagement, culture-transformation and foster diversity & inclusion with an emphasis on building high performing teams and an inclusive and diverse workforce.
  2. Ensures that employees’ voices are heard via engagement surveys, exit surveys, pulse surveys, focus groups, one-on-ones, etc.
  3. Participates in the development of engagement plans and helps drive actions at all levels from group-wide initiatives to site initiatives to grassroots initiatives. Clearly links initiatives back to the voice of the employee and shares successes.
  4. Assist key stakeholders in the development of mentoring programs.
  5. Collaborates with DEI department in supporting initiatives facilitated by employee resource groups.
  6. Participate in planning and facilitating employee events with members of the HR team and as a member of the Hospital Events Planning Committee.
  7. Facilitates a wide range of employee engagement activities to support a positive work environment, including reward/recognition activities and mentoring programs, while serving as a key member of the Recognition Committee.
  8. Research best practices related to employee engagement and implement quality programs in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  9. Develop communications, webpages, and resource materials to promote awareness of engagement programs and initiatives.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned. These may include but are not limited to: Maintaining a current knowledge base of department processes, protocols and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, project teams or special assignments as needed.
