Holland/Ottawa County Drivers maintain a safe environment in the vehicle; ensure the safe operation of the vehicle; and observes all Michigan safety laws. You must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematics on a high school equivalency level, have the ability to communicate and work effectively, respectfully, and courteously with a wide variety of individuals, including individuals with disabilities, who ride the agencys vehicles; and the ability to work flexible hours including irregular times and split shift schedules.
REQUIREMENTS: You must have a valid Michigan Drivers License, good driving record, and less than six (6) driving points. We prefer CDL holders but will train individuals who have passed the written portion of the CDL test; we will also train the for P and S endorsements. Knowledge of streets and roads in the area served is a plus.
You must maintain necessary certification and education for a State of Michigan CDL and comply with medical/physical requirements for a valid medical examinerâ€™s card.
PHYSICAL DEMAND: This employee may be required to exert considerable force and to bend, stoop, push, or pull as needed to assist individuals in wheelchairs on and off the loading ramp and into secure positions on the bus and requires the manual dexterity to secure wheelchair tie-downs. You may be required to sit for several hours at one time as needed to complete your route. HIRING REQUIREMENTS: Pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
