Nurse Coordinator (Medical Group) - Infusion Center * Days - 40hrs/wk

Shift: Days

General Summary:

The Medical Group Nurse Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who assists in the management of nursing at NOC locations and coordinates nursing personnel and patient care activities.

Requirements:

  • Michigan Registered Nurse licensure required.
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing required
  • Master’s of Science in Nursing or related field, preferred.
  • Certification in clinical specialty, required within 3 years of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) provider, required
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Previous experience in ambulatory setting, preferred

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordination:
    1. Provides clinical direction, evaluates staff performance, and completes evaluations on time according to schedule
    2. Collaborates with clinical teams to develop and educate staff to the scope and stands of the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing professional organization.
  2. Clinical:
    1. Functions as a role model, demonstrating expertise in clinical judgment, technical skills, knowledge base, and execution of the nursing process
    2. Mentors staff in the nursing process and appropriate delegation
    3. Participate in temporary assignment measures, as needed
  3. Leadership:
    1. Participates and serves on committees, task forces, and work groups at the department and hospital level as determined by the manager
    2. Assists in the development, maintenance and revision of departmental and hospital standards, policies, and guidelines.
    3. Demonstrates knowledge and consistently applies hospital and departmental policies.
    4. Demonstrates knowledge of professional standards of care.
    5. Supports professional growth and development of all employees.
    6. Collaborates effectively with staff, manager, other team members, and physicians.
    7. Manages situations in an effort to maximize safety and minimize risk.
    8. Encourages clinical ambulatory RN’s to engage in nursing councils, grant writing, process improvement initiatives, research projects, degree completion, and specialty certifications.
  4. Communication/Customer Service:
    1. Demonstrates clear and effective communicate, both written and verbal.
    2. Demonstrates effective conflict resolution skills.
    3. Appropriately utilizes and promotes the use of the chain of command.
    4. Demonstrates and promotes excellent customer service.
    5. Demonstrates knowledge of and respect for patients’, families’, and employees’ rights, including confidentiality.
  5. Quality/Outcomes:
    1. Assist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of quality management, infection control, and survey readiness activities.
    2. Actively promotes safety initiatives
  6. Professionalism:
    1. Achieves professional development goals as set in previous evaluation or counseling session with manager.
    2. Independently manages mandatory education and competency requirements.
    3. Demonstrates accountability for own professionalism including appearance, attendance, efficient use of time, attitude, and organization of personal work area.
    4. Supports change process and mentors others in the change process.
  7. Innovation:
    1. Intentional innovative approaches to patient and community care delivery, care team development, and technological advances to patient care.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned. These may include but are not limited to: Maintaining a current knowledge base of practice processes, protocols and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management.
