Meijer is seeking a Domain Architect to orchestrate the architecture across multiple value streams, enhancing our technology frameworks and aligning with our strategic business goals. This role is essential for defining the overarching architecture, ensuring consistency across systems, and contributing to a robust architectural runway that supports the agile release train.

You will set architectural standards and governance within your domain, collaborate with enterprise architects to ensure solution alignment, and provide technical leadership to guide project teams towards successful implementation. By designing conceptual and logical architectures, you will create a foundation for scalable and sustainable technology solutions at Meijer.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • ??Evaluates architectural options and defines overall architecture of the system, ensuring commonality across systems.
  • ?Defines non-functional requirements including performance monitoring, alerting and code management, ensuring alignment with technology best practices and SLAs.
  • ?Collaborates with enterprise architecture to identify gaps in solutions and ensure alignment.
  • ?Guides architects and teams to align with enterprise strategy and vision through technical and business leadership.
  • ?Determines major elements and subsystems and defines interfaces as well as architectural runway.
  • ?Leads and prioritizes the architectural runway for the solution trains.
  • ?Interfaces with the Product Owner and IT partners at the Program level to define and estimate features for agile teams.
  • ?Works within the SAFe Agile framework and employs ITIL best practices.
  • ?Create conceptual and logical domain design diagrams.
  • ?Work to create a multiple year domain strategic roadmap.
  • ?Define standards definitions and reference models for the specific domain.
  • ?Establish domain architecture governance and compliance for the specific domain. ?

What You'll Bring With You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Analysis or related discipline.
  • Experience in development with the larger Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of software development architecture, lifecycle methodologies, deployment tooling, and practices for cloud and/or on-premise solutions
  • Creates and manages a roadmap and business plan that aligns with the development strategy and supports the business vision, strategy, and objectives
  • Creates and manages development practices by leveraging best practices, industry frameworks, and guiding principles
  • Strong abilities to document development practices, techniques, standards, and patterns.
  • Monitors new technological advances in application development and information technologies.
  • 4-6 years’ experience in at least two IT disciplines in a multi-tier environment including but not limited to technical architecture, network management, application development, database management or operations planning.
  • Ability to disambiguate complex ideas and communicate in a simple and compelling way to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge of business, technology, industry and market ecosystems.
  • Thinks, behaves, and acts in an innovative consulting manner to drive organizational strategies.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments.
  • Analyze trends and disruptions, and assess their impact on targeted business outcomes.
  • Breadth of knowledge in technologies, platforms, and domains.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the components of a technical architecture.
  • Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes.
