The Competitive Pricing Data Analyst position is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, quality control, and accessibility of competitive pricing data at Meijer. Individuals in the Competitive Pricing Data Analyst position will partner with pricing leadership to define and refine data requirements and determine appropriate solutions to improve data acquisition. Responsibility includes ensuing data quality through the monitoring of incoming data feeds, analysis of data coverage gaps, and leading the efforts to integrate additional data providers. The Competitive Pricing Data Analyst is responsible for developing metrics, reports, and scorecards to track the status of data quality, communicate the overall health of competitive data, and has direct responsibility for leading efforts to continuously improve the coverage, reliability, and accuracy of competitive pricing data at Meijer


What You'll be Doing:

  • Responsible for defining Meijer competitive data requirements (breadth, depth, frequency, etc.)
  • Responsible for the procurement of competitive data and the organization of the data in a manner that supports any reporting or execution requirements
  • Proactively seeks new sources of competitive data to expand geographic and product coverage; manages vendor relationships and performance standards
  • Develops and maintains pricing data quality metrics, reports, and scorecards (e.g. price accuracy rates, data coverage, data provider performance, etc.)
  • Analyzes and communicates the state of competitive data and possible data acquisition opportunities
  • Monitors for data anomalies / errors and communicates as identified
  • Maintains competitive data mappings, identifies coverage gaps, and partners with data providers to increase competitive data coverage and to resolve any questionable/erroneous data
  • Develops, maintains, and administers routine examination processes to ensure accuracy of competitive data
  • Monitors and reviews data ingestion processes, as well as troubleshoots data import issues when applicable
  • Coordinate RFI / RFQ processes when considering onboarding new data providers
  • Lead the integration efforts when onboarding new data providers

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree required - Statistics, Economics, or Mathematics strongly preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in retail, analysis, and/or pricing preferred
  • Proficient in a wide range of analytical, quantitative, and statistical techniques and tools to derive insights from large, complex data environments
