Currently, Meijer is looking for a Deli Team Leader (40). Plans, directs and supervises team members in the day to day operations of a Deli department. Manages department operations, oversees consistency in product preparation and delivery, ensures food safety standards are followed, and monitors proper equipment usage. Ensures appropriate service levels at the Deli counter to provide a minimal wait time for customers. Responsible for training team members and troubleshooting operational issues.

Responsible for staffing selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs

Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge

Ensures the Deli team is thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs and have completed all required training

Work with the Deli Team Lead on succession planning and recommending promotions

Mentors, coaches and manages performances for all Deli team members

Supervises culinary clerks

Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service

Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings, discussions, and huddles

Works closely with the Deli Team Lead to achieve P & L goals for the Deli department

Reviews Customer Survey and customer feedback from previous day or week

Provides consistent and great quality products and services

Responsible for operations, merchandising profitability, processes and overall conditions of the entire Deli department

Follows all Food Safety policies and practices
