Job Title:   Transportation Supervisor-Two Sites
Job Info:   This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Work schedule will be adjusted based on the needs of the department, with approximately 20 hours per week for each area.
Job Description
Summary / Objective
The Transportation Supervisor for Pioneer and Wesley is directly responsible for coordination and evaluation of transportation services and programs that support people with mobility impairments and developmental disabilities.
Essential Functions

1. Promote positive relations between all transportation entities (Wesley, Pioneer Resources, MATS, MAISD, HealthWest and local school bus transportation).
2. Monitor the condition of vehicles and report the need for both preventative maintenance and repairs to the PR Fleet Manager.
3. Act as a liaison between local transportation and the MAISD; maintain cooperative and effective communication and attend quarterly transportation meetings.
4. Fill open routes and cancellations for driver absences.
5. Remain in constant communication with drivers to answer any questions and to direct them as needed.
6. Spend time each day answering questions and problem solving with the PR Transportation director, drivers and the staff at Wesley.
7. Schedule trips as they are requested. A two week notice is normally required.
8. Train staff on proper wheelchair loading and share information regarding transportation laws for Wesley staff to use the vans.
9. Organize Wesley arrival/departure schedule with the local school districts.
10. Facilitate MATS bus pass procedures for the Transition Campus by ordering, obtaining and distributing to the teachers/students; check requisition; discount fare cards to work in coordination with the teachers.
11. Act as the point person for all transportation needs.
12. Support Wesley Physical Therapist with wheelchair transportation needs.
13. Report problems and concerns regarding students by using the proper reporting form.
14. Follow a flexible schedule and work collaboratively with all Wesley School staff.
15. Work with administration to update MAISD policies and procedures including random drug testing and obtaining driver records.
16. Ensure driver paperwork is filled out and turned in, this includes mileage form, passenger count, pre and post trip inspections.
1. Hiring and scheduling bus drivers to assure that bus runs and special requests are staffed.
2. Supervising and evaluating the performance of employees within assigned departmental divisions.
3. Maintaining a working knowledge of the current collective bargaining agreement, abiding by the terms of the agreement and working with assigned stewards to promote efficiency and teamwork.
4. Reviewing and approving payroll for personnel assigned to the division; working cooperatively with human resources and finance office staff to assure the relevancy and timeliness of information about employees.
5. Making sure drivers have appropriate credentials and training, developing opportunities for in-service training and skill enhancement and monitoring driving records for assigned divisions.
6. Reviewing time/attendance reports for assigned divisions on a regular basis to assure accuracy and compliance with driver schedules.
7. Monitoring the condition of vehicles and reporting the need for both preventative maintenance and repairs to the PR Fleet Manager.
8. For evaluation purposes, conduct random observations of driver's pre and post trips and driving abilities. Inspect department vehicles for cleanliness and presence of required safety equipment.
9. Participate in planning meetings with the Director of Transportation and other supervisors to develop and monitor goals and strategies for the department.

Experience & Educational Requirements
• A Bachelor degree in business administration, public administration or a closely related field and at least one year of experience with transportation services or human services, preferably in a supervisory position, OR a high school diploma with two to five years of experience in transportation or human services and two years in a supervisory position preferred.
• An ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
• Excellent computer skills with experience in computerized routing systems, word processing and data entry.
Supervisory Responsibility
Hire, train and supervise Pioneer Resources bus drivers. Train and supervise Wesley van drivers and aids.
Work Environment
This employee will usually work indoors in an office setting. Offices will be located at Wesley Transition building and Pioneer Resources bus terminal. Outside work may include: inspecting vehicles and riding on buses.
This employee will be expected to travel between job sites. May also travel for conferences, seminars and meetings.
Physical Demands of the Job
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Manual dexterity is required to record information in writing or through use of a keyboard or similar device. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
