Certification/Licensure (specific to position) Experience preferred, but not required The Registered Sonographer performs diagnostic medical sonography as ordered by a provider, operates equipment, and maintains equipment and supplies. Accepts responsibility for quality exams, assists in teaching and orientation of new Associates when necessary and assumes a professional role in providing appropriate medical care to patients. May be asked to assist in other duties of the diagnostic department when imaging is not required. Qualifications: 1) Graduate of approved school of Diagnostic Ultrasound. 2) Must either: a) Possess certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (or) b) Successfully present oneself as Registry-eligible. [If b, employment will be conditional upon successfully passing boards within one year]. 3) Echo-cardiogram and/or vascular registration/certification strongly desired4) Must be amiable to a flexible schedule, including overtime and on-call schedules. 5) Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
