The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities performed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst:
â€¢ The Behavior Analyst will implement functional behavior assessments with children with autism, recognizing and discussing signs of autism and criteria for autism spectrum disorder, and participating in clinical teams with other autism professionals. â€¢ Analysts will administer verbal behavior assessments, conduct language, play, and skill- based assessments, and design, implement, and/or train others using individualized language, play and skill-based curricula. â€¢ Supervise experience in 1:1education of learners with autism across educational and community settings, as well as familiarity with designing, participating in, or supervising in-home 1:1 programs for young children with autism. â€¢ Collect, graph, analyze, display and discuss data based progress. Job Qualifications Knowledge, Skill, and Ability: â€¢ General knowledge of the developmental disabilities system in Michigan. â€¢ Solid knowledge of the principles and practice of Applied Behavior Analysis. This includes general behavioral assessment and Ethical Standards in Behavior Analysis. â€¢ Solid knowledge of the behavioral impact of developmental disabilities, as well as the cognitive, educational, vocational and social challenges encountered by persons with developmental disabilities. â€¢ Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others. â€¢ Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels. â€¢ Effective and creative negotiator and problem solver. â€¢ Ability to work effectively with various technology including word processing software, internet based databases, etc. â€¢ This employee must possess and maintain a valid driverâ€™s license with less than six points.
Training/Education: â€¢ Masterâ€™s Degree in Psychology or a related field, preferably from an ABA accredited program. â€¢ Training and certification under the Behavior Analysis Certification Program (BACB) for Applied Behavior Analysis as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst OR â€¢ If not already certified as a BCBA, applicant must have a Masterâ€™s degree from an accredited college or university or be able to receive one within 45 days from hire (provide graduation date) in one of the following areas: 1) Behavior Analysis 2) Education 3) Psychology AND agree to enroll in coursework from the approved Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) course sequence to be able to sit for the BACB examination and obtain BCBA Certification. Must be enrolled in courses within three months of hire, and must be certified within two years of hire, making steady progress once hired.
Experience: â€¢ Two yearsâ€™ experience providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. This includes at least 120 hours of direct services to individuals with complex behavior problems
