Administer Pliantâ€™s gauge control, color numerical control, moisture analysis, and provide quality laboratory support including dimensional layouts, capability studies, and performance testing. Analyze data and clearly communicate the results through the generation of graphs, control charts, etc. Assist and train production associates on quality methods and techniques. Preferred Education, Experience, and Personal Traits:
Associates degree with studies in quality assurance, statistics, engineering, manufacturing technology, and/or drafting/computer aided design.
Training in quality methods and statistical techniques
Ability to understand prints/drawings, including proficiency in GD&T.
Proficient with Microsoft Applications (i.d. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Demonstrated ability in intermediate math, organizational skills, and verbal/written communication skills.
Experience with group communication and problem solving methods.
Experience with ISO9001/TS16949 Quality Management Systems.
ASQ Certified, such as: Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Technician.
Plastics experience preferred.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:
Perform dimensional layouts and capability studies using appropriate forms and statistical software. Assess results and provide appropriate recommendations as requested.
Qualify/approve & track performance of commercial laboratories for inspection and calibration based on Pliant, customer, and quality system standards & requirements.
Control, calibrate and maintain inspection of measuring and test equipment. Maintain the electronic gauge library, schedule instruments for calibration at appropriate intervals, perform calibrations internally or outsource as appropriate. Source and procure new gauges and inspection and test equipment as directed. Participate in gauge design and initial acceptance reviews.
Perform measurement systems analysis studies; interpret results to determine the adequacy of measurement instruments, instructions and training.
Train floor personnel on proper use of inspection, measurement, & test equipment.
Maintain numerical color control software files and master spectrographs. Assess incoming color concentrates, pre-colored resins and production parts to assure consistent color control to approved masters.
Set-up, organize, and maintain moisture analyzer memory programs. Coordinate with vendor to obtain and validate moisture analysis test parameters.
Generate Quality Documentation as required, i.e. Quality Alerts, Sort, and/or Rework instructions.
Support customer and/or Pliant production by initiating and/or supporting actions required to resolve quality concerns by containing defective/suspect products and/or inspection/replacement of stock internally or at the customer location through Corrective or Preventive Actions.
Interpret quality plans, engineering drawings and inspection instructions; assist floor personnel to comply with inspection requirements and make valid decisions concerning quality of product and statistical control of processes.
Set up and maintain statistical process control part files and assist line employees on data entry and control chart interpretation.
Maintain quality documents, such as work procedures, job instructions, control plans and inspection instructions.
Support ongoing production through supplemental part inspections.
Support active part/program requirements such as annual validation.
Maintain a clean and organized quality lab and work space.

Industrial office environment, light noise, and occasional factory floor exposure.
