Job Title:   Maintenance Manager
 
Job Info:   Coordinates and directs the efforts of administrative and hourly maintenance personnel to maintain equipment and facilities in peak condition while minimizing production downtime and costs. Work in a clean, state of the art facility with staff that are professionals and take pride in their work and the facility they maintain. Assists in the evaluation and selection of new equipment and plans and directs installation. Ensures compliance with company policies, operating procedures, budget guidelines, MIOSHA and other applicable governmental regulations. Prepares annual budget requests and monitors performance quarterly. Keep procedures, policies, work instructions, etc. current. Stays abreast of developing governmental regulations and ensures that required training, monitoring and reporting is completed. Keeps abreast of new developments in maintenance and our industry. Lead, teach and direct employees monitoring results for continuous improvement.
Develop measurable goals for assigned area. Conduct employee reviews on the prescribed schedule. Implements employee training programs. Develops and implements a continuous improvement plan for the maintenance department.
Evaluates parts, products and services in a scientific manner, making recommendations for change where appropriate. Maintain a work order and PM scheduling program and integrate with production scheduling to best utilize all available resources while meeting customer requirements. Monitor workload, adjust work schedules and schedule overtime as necessary to complete projects and routine maintenance with minimum impact on production schedules.
Participates in the evaluation, selection and layout of new plant equipment.
Establishes and maintains an appropriate inventory level for maintenance parts and supplies. Ensure accurate computerized inventory. Ensure physical inventory in an organized condition.
Assists in preparation of annual maintenance operating budget request. Monitor performance against approved budget at least quarterly. Identify capital expenditures that are needed and submit annual budget request, and capital asset expenditure justification Review and authorize parts and materials requisitions for maintenance.
Become and remain current with the physical facility and all equipment and upgrades. Maintain current knowledge of industry processes and equipment. LICENSES, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE - Four year college degree, with an engineering major (mechanical or electrical)preferred.
Computer literate including use of standard software applications.
A minimum of five years of senior level management responsibility in a manufacturing operation, with at least ten reporting employees.
