CareerMatrix.com uses "Whatsa Matta U" as a test and demonstration site for the CollegeMatrix.com system.
CollegeMatrix Career Center
CollegeMatrix.com is a powerful and secure utility designed to easily adapt
to every educational career center from the smallest educational institute or
community college, all the way up to the Ivy League University with multiple
campuses. The program utilizes the power of the Internet to provide access to
track every student and employer who is using your college resource. With many
added features such as scheduling events, interviews and appointments for
student, staff and employers, you will have a complete history of all of your
notes and correspondences.
Customization
Your school has complete control over who does, or does not, have access to your
site, and can even limit your selected employer’s access to just resumes or
jobs, or both. You set your own unique curriculum; job categories and campus
list that the students see, and can approve each student and resume before it is
granted access to the site. The counselor has a utility to make notes and referrals for each of their students
as well as a personal announcement field for their own students.
Who does it benefit?
- Career Centers benefit by providing and tracking a secure, web based, online
jobsite for students to greatly improve the student’s chances of getting a job.
You will no longer need to retype jobs or resumes to have the latest information
in your system; the employer and the students enter their own information on a
password-protected, VeriSign secured site and you simply administer it! Plus, you have a simple way to invite
employers to post jobs onto your system without having to retype the
information. Automate your Career Center and save yourself time and effort.
Assigned counselor can set up an online schedule for when they are available to students
for career counseling. You can also set up on-campus interviews for employers
and direct these activities to a: a specific list of students, b: a group of
students based on their field of study, or c: all students.
- Students can
create online resumes, making them available to college-approved employers, and
easily send them to the Internet through the CareerMatrix.com network. Students
can access the entire job openings directly through the Internet, apply directly
to them, and a contact manager maintains the records for them. Students can also
activate a job alert function to notify them whenever a new job is available
that fits their criteria. They can even set the interview alert to notify them
on their wireless device when an employer is trying to reach them for an
interview. Through the Internet, they can set appointments to visit their
assigned career counselor, or book an interview with companies coming to the
campus for interviews.
- Employers can
sign up through your college website, or can be imported from the
CareerMatrix.com list of employers. Once approved by your staff, the employer
can obtain access to the student resume database, as well as gaining access to
post jobs directly to the campus web site for your students and alumni to
browse. Employers can also send their jobs to other colleges, or onto the
Internet through the CareerMatrix.com network. Once the employer has filled the
position, they can deactivate the job and it is instantly deactivated from
everywhere it was listed.
How does it work?
We provide a simple text link that can be placed in a frame on a web page of your
choice. This “home page” for your Career Center provides space for your choice of
text, links and graphics. From here students, staff and employers will gain
access to all of the features while your staff maintains extensive control to
limit the features available to each one.
