Reporting to the Clinical Service Director – Peri-operative Services, coordinates with the central scheduling office to ensure accuracy of information passed from Pathways to Surgi-Net. Performs thorough chart review of pre-op, intra-op, and PACU EMR documentation for inaccuracies, omissions, misspellings, etc., Facilitates documentation correction with appropriate staff as indicated. Reviews records and assures compliance for core indicator metrics. Follows up with staff and performs ongoing monitoring and reporting. Provides ongoing feedback to clinical leadership as to patterns and trends related to clinical documentation and outcomes. Develops and provides education to peri-operative staff related to Surgi-Net, clinical documentation, charge process and regulatory or payor changes impacting these processes. Successful completion of an accredited Nursing school program. Preferred: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN). Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan. Preferred: Professional nursing certification (AORN, ASPAN etc.). Three years acute care intra-operative nursing experience. Progressive experience in health care including involvement in direct patient care, educating staff, and problem solving of unit or organizational issues. Preferred: Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and deal with stresses associated with a patient care environment such as emergencies, time pressures, varying patient emotions/attitudes/conditions, etc.
