Custom Profile is seeking Production Material Handler.

We are looking for a candidate that will insure that all incoming and outgoing products in manufacturing are accurately documented and properly identified, moved and stored.
Custom Profile is an employee-owned company that develops and manufactures specialty thermoplastic profile extrusions and sub-assemblies with locations in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Camden, SC and Juarez, Mexico. Our in-house tooling design and fabrication allows for complete control of quality and reduced lead times. The company boasts a blue-chip customer base, including MillerKnoll, Haworth, Hon/Allsteel, Steelcase, Whirlpool, Electrolux, GE Appliance, 3M and others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage central material system activities; work with supervisors, set-ups and extrusion operators regarding daily schedule and material changes. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Support extrusion and finishing departments with material/equipment moves. Make sure extrusion lines do not run out of materials and finishing areas are changed over promptly and any materials needed are supplied in a timely manner to eliminate any un-necessary downtime.
- Maintain accurate inventory controls by adhering to CPI procedures and perform material handling functions such as documentation and recordkeeping in a timely manner.
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, racks, trays and shelves. Remove sample materials and mark them with identifying tags/information.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, by following daily housekeeping and 5S standards. Support employees with value-added activities. Continuous improvement and 5S.
- Communicate all job orders and their status to other material handlers at shift change
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; follow daily housekeeping and 5S standards.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of material handling experience required; a suitable combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- High School Diploma or GED required
Strength in the following areas required:
- Microsoft Office (word, outlook, excel)
- Basic Math Skills
- Problem Solving
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
- 5S/Lean Manufacturing/Kanban
- ERP/MRP Experience
- Bar Code Scanning Experience
- Previous Forklift License
Physical Demands:
- Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs.
- The noise level in this work environment is moderate.
- This employee works in the warehouse and loading docks which may be subject to cold and hot working conditions.
- Safety glasses, hearing protection and closed toe shoes must be worn on the production floor
