Who Are We ?
Select Specialty Hospital - Western Michigan is a 31 bed "Hospital-Within-A-Hospital" located within Hackley Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan. We offer all the services of a large hospital while maintaining the atmosphere of a small hospital.
We provide an in-depth preceptor-ship program to all new hires individualized to your needs by our Masters prepared Nurse Educator. You will thrive in our environment where patients, physicians, and clinical staff have the full support of onsite surgical services, code services, and intensive care making Select a true "hospital within a hospital". You will enjoy our quality-controlled environment where our medical and clinical staff are members of a dedicated team focused on positive outcomes.
We are licensed by the State of Michigan, certified by Medicare and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as an acute care hospital.
Along with an ideal community which features a moderate cost of living, good schools, reasonable housing costs and a variety of cultural events. You will enjoy Muskegon's beautiful suburban setting situated along beautiful Lake Michigan.
Who do we serve?
Most people who require hospitalization expect to be admitted, treated, and returned to their normal daily lives in a matter of days. However, a small number of patients require a longer than usual stay. For those patients who need this longer-term inpatient care, Select Specialty Hospital - Western Michigan provides the specialty care they require for the quickest and most complete recovery. Our average length of stay is 23-27 days versus 3-5 in a traditional hospital setting.
Our patients are adults, 17 years old and over, who may no longer require the intensive care unit, but who are not ready for discharge. These patients require continued care in a specialized acute care hospital.
