Gentex Corporation develops, manufactures, and markets proprietary electro-optical products - products combining photoelectric sensing devices with related electronic circuitry. Specifically, our two product lines are smoke detectors that "see" smoke and signal an alarm; rearview mirrors that sense glare and correspondingly dim. As ingenious as these products may seem, the Company continues to make them smarter.

Automotive Products Group

Gentex is the recognized world leader in the manufacturer of electrochromic, automatic-dimming mirrors for the auto industry, selling to nearly every major automotive manufacturer and mirror supplier worldwide. Gentex was the first company in the world to successfully develop and produce a commercial electrochromic mirror for the motor vehicle industry.

Fire Protection Products Group Gentex also maintains an extensive line of commercial fire protection products for the North American market, including smoke detectors and audible/visual signaling devices. Gentex was the first to develop the dual-cell photoelectric smoke detector.
