AmeriCorps is
a network of national service programs that engage
more than 50,000 Americans each year in intensive service
to meet critical needs in education, public safety,
health, and the environment.;
Habitat brings
together people with resources and people in need to
build simple, decent, affordable houses. The homes
are sold to those in need
at no profit, through no-interest loans.
The Points of
Light Foundation, founded in 1990 by former President
George Bush, is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit
organization that promotes volunteerism. It is the
nation’s leading advocate for and authority on
volunteering.
As
a Coordinating Council housed at the White House and
chaired by President George W. Bush, USA Freedom Corps
is working to strengthen our culture of service and
help find opportunities for every American to start
volunteering.;
