Support Staff assist individuals, based on their Person Centered Plan, with one or all of the following functions: Training in cooking, housekeeping, budgeting, shopping, safety, personal grooming and hygiene, socialization, leisure time use and mobility training. Some personal care assistance or "chore services" may also be provided. Hours include mornings, evenings and weekends. Must supply proof of high school diploma, transcript or GED and complete pre-employment physical and drug screen upon job offer. This employee must be over the age of 21, be of good moral character, have a valid Michigan Driver's License with less than six points, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, ideally have at least one year of experience working with persons with disabilities and be able to complete or have already completed CMH courses for employment in a group home. Experience is preferred but will train the right person.
All Applicants must successfully complete a drug screen and pre-employment physical exam before hire.
